if you guys are following me in twitter, you guys would probably know that recently i have been crazy about buying books (fiction, documentary, beauty, non-fiction) mainly because i have quit buying unnecessary magazines which i find myself just flipping through ONCE & they end up stacking in the dark corner of my room.

1. Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual - Bobbi Brown
at first i was really unsure about this book because i was scared that it'll be FILLED with advertisement for their products but i was wrong! the book focuses on using makeup to enhance your beauty, not selling their products. one thing i LOVE about Bobbi Brown's books is that she always encourages women to use the least amount of makeup, because the inside is what matters. this book i would say is recommended for those who are just starting makeup. the title says "for everyone from beginner to pro" but i think most of the tips & techniques, a pro would have known already. however, the back half of the book does contain a lot of useful information about how Bobbi Brown became who she is now & her career history. i think this book would be very interesting especially for those who are planning to go into the makeup industry! :)

2. Bobbi Brown BEAUTY RULES - Bobbi Brown
after being somewhat impressed with the Makeup Manual, i bought this book & i'm sorry to say this but i loved it again! this book however, is more for teenagers because Bobbi goes from the really basics of eating right & cleansing right. the makeup in this book is also really minimal because most of her models are probably younger than 18. using real teenagers, i can feel that Bobbi really put her heart while writing this book. Again, encouraging young girls to use the least amount of makeup, this book is so heart-warming & educational at the same time. this would be a great gift for your younger sister that have just started makeup!

3. Pony's Secret Makeup Book - Park HyeMin
Pony or Park HyeMin is one of the most popular 'uhljjangs' (meaning 'pretty face'/net idols) & internet models of many online shops in Korea. with amazing skin & features, she decided to write a makeup book including all the tips & TONS of tutorials. being a ultimate Pony fan, i had to get my hands on this book. the book includes tips on everything you can ask for with tutorials that emphasizes on 'minimal makeup' giving that Korean dewy looking finish. dividing her tutorials into seasons including : Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. this is one of my favorite books!

4. 1001 little beauty miracles - Esme Floyd
i recently bought this book & omg! i'm in LOVE with this small book but full of information! not only it's super easy to read, it contains a lot of tips about beauty that i never knew before (at least for me) including natural remedies for mask (i mean, i never knew about the watermellon trick before!) with adorable drawings, i give this book a thumbs up!

* i have put a order for 3 more beauty books. i should get them in the mail soon :)
after reading them, i'll share my thoughts with you guys again!

setting the beauty books aside, yesterday i had a chance to go to Kinokuniya, a huge Japanese book store in the city, i decided to pick up some magazines that i haven't bought for so long. i bought Popteen & Popsister. and i have to say, Popsister really kicked their older sister's Popteen butt real hard! Popsister (March 2011 issue) was FULL of great fashion & makeup tips, while Popteen this month failed so bad. from now on, i think i'm just going to grab the Popsister because this magazine is amazinggggggggg!

for this issue, the section that caught my eye the most is the "VINTAGE MIX" section. featuring vintage style clothes & inspiration from runways, this is one of my favorite sections in the whole magazine. so i thought of sharing them with you guys. i absolutely adore every piece they put on in this section! love love love!
